Epicurean Expeditions
Fall Epicurean Expedition to Great Miami Restaurants

October 16, 2013

Update: There is a hint of a chill in the air which seems to bring the Epicurean faithful out in force, so our fall game plan takes you from a sexy pool party on Saturdays to nights of haute electronic beats with Michael Wood, Luciano and DJ Jarell. Splash down at De Rod's pool party at the Bentley Beach Club or celebrate the second anniversary of chef Scott Conant's Scarpetta restaurant with one of the hottest wine-paired meal deals in the Fontainebleau Resort's history! Here are the restaurants for upcoming Epicurean Expeditions. Checkout a full list of top Miami restaurants here.

1500 Degrees
A special shout-out this week to Chef Paula DaSilva of the Eden Roc Renaissance dining room 1500 Degrees for winning Esquire Magazine's "20 Best New Restaurants" recently. Her farm-to-table ethos elevates this Mid-Beach steakhouse to a level of excellence that's garnering her team national attention. - 1500 Degrees at the Eden Roc, 4525 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach.

Area 31
Fresh, simple and sustainable are the buzzwords at the EPIC Hotel's stunning seafood restaurant where the best of Florida waters (as well as the designated patch of ocean called "Area 31" from which the place takes it's rather odd, space-alien-sounding name) are served up daily to happy travelers and locals. Catch the catch of the day Downtown this weekend. - Area 31 at the Epic Hotel, 270 Biscayne Boulevard Way, Downtown Miami.

Azul
Chef Jeff Huff has taken top toque honors at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel's dining room bringing his fusion of European flavors and Asian influences to the new menu. See him and his lively team slicing and dicing at the dazzling white marble open kitchen while you sip something vintage selected by Sommelier Cynthia Betancourt. - Azul at the Mandarin Oriental, 500 Brickell Key Drive, Miami.

db Bistro Moderne
Star Chef Daniel Boulud lends his considerable firepower to the Marriott Marquis dining room in Downtown Miami, filling the void in fine French restaurants with his elegant fare. Service is smooth and professional, decor is understated and elegant and while the cuisine is a little pricey for bistro classics, the chef's renditions are definitely worth the investment. - db Bistro Moderne, 255 Biscayne Boulevard Way, Downtown Miami.
